my art in spaces
Setting up a space brings me so much joy. Whether it’s for a personal exhibition or a shared pop‑up, I love watching an empty room slowly transform into something alive and full. I’ve displayed the same works in many different settings, and it still surprises me how differently they can feel depending on the space. It makes me long for that perfect place to create – then to see the finished pieces presented, whether in an exhibition or hanging on a buyer’s wall.
One piece in particular, Mind, which I painted in 2022, has travelled with me to many spaces and perfectly embodies this experience. Although I’m still not quite ready to let it go—and perhaps never will—it currently lives in my kitchen. To me, it’s a depiction of my emotions and thoughts at the time, yet having it in front of people from all over London has given me a fascinating insight into how others see it. I’ve never heard two opinions alike: some imagine a large bird, others a horse leaping, or even souls screaming. I love hearing all these interpretations, each one adding another layer to the life of the piece.
